The fact that someone could mix the two bands just goes to show how important - and urgent - it is for everybody to start paying attention to Green On Red, and its key role in 80's alternative US rock. I rest my case.
in passing if I was mischievous enough to look for signs of green day/U2 style fail I might point to the "mighty" lemon drops;) but the rest of the posts tell me that isn't likely.
For the U2 fan here's Kevin Shields take on Green on Red from the "Loveless" book by Mike McGonigal:
"If you hear it [the Green on Red original] you're gonna go 'fucking hell'...This one track had this kind of melody going over the top to the tune of the song, and he started messing around with the tremelo arm..."
All music is posted just for the benefit of a better understanding of what has become known as new wave, post-punk et al. If someone (artist, label) feels that a particular link should be removed, please do let me know. It's that simple. For the rest of you: enjoy and if you like the music buy the records!

another great band and another great album...
No they're too mainstream for a blog like this. U2 will be posted next.
Sorry Mahmood for the comment above. I mistook Green On Red who aren't mainstream for Green Day who are.

Green Day is far too green for Green on Red
Thanx!
