CD reissue WMO 1998 with bonus tracks

"Originally formed with the intention of being a live band, P'o hastily recorded this album when Peter Price announced plans to emigrate. The impulsive nature of this decision is evident in many of the tracks, which often seem partially improvised. (...) The bulk of this collection is very listenable but too many tracks rely on mangling a pop riff and playing ethnic drumming over it. Some of the ambient tracks are reminiscent of Leer & Rental's The Bridge and the screwed up pop numbers will be familiar to owners of Alone on Penguin Island. If you're a fan of either of those productions or Dome you'll find this a worthy purchase. The album's vague pop leaning (at least in the fact that there's no out and out abstraction) may also tempt more conventional listeners to another side of the 'greater Wire' story".

Just to take issue with your labeling of this as experimetal or electronic music which I find totally inaccurate. AMG label it as Alternative/Indie Rock which is true to the mark.
I have been all WIRE Since 1977
so it came as a small shock to find out some small and for some peoples insignificant fact i am sure but..
I Thought i might let you guys know
about the apparent re issue
It's something i am going to investigate personally via purchasing a vinyl copy of this Classic record/CD
Here is the small shock..
This CD release was not a good representation of the works. The master tape for this classic and priceless recording is apparently lost; the WMO CD was mastered from vinyl. This vinyl transfer was done from an inexpensive turntable that was running at the wrong speed; too fast. Zinc Lasso and Mhona (alternate mix) are 'clean' versions, mastered from a good source and they play at the correct speed. The difference between the alternate mixes and the vinyl remaster is quite a shock. I have to say that if you are a fan of Gilbert and Lewis' DOME project, the defects in this release are tolerable just for the sheer delight of pieces like 'Holy Joe'. Obviously, if you can get a vinyl copy, buy it for whatever the seller is asking, because those are the only true copies left of this truly great record.
Excellent music it is what I needed in order to avoid the monotony, because this is something different and I've gotten other sensations with it.
